• Broad-tailed and Black-chinned Hummingbirds arrive. Be sure to have their feeders ready.
• Bullocks and Hooded Orioles begin to arrive. Place your orange-colored nectar feeder out in the open to entice flying orioles to your yard.
• Put out nesting materials (pieces of yarn or string) in suet cages for birds.
• Both American and Lesser Goldfinch are migrating to the mountains.
• First Swainson's Thrushes migrate through the area at night.
• Tree Swallows begin nesting late in month.
• Shorebirds pass through, showing their breeding plumage.
• Lyrids meteor shower, late-April.
